Lyra Spanset Party!

Come party in the spanset with Katie Rose, our newest addition to the Upside Teaching Team! Katie has been partying in the spanset all over the United States for many years and can't wait to bring the party to Upside Aerial! This will be a mixed level workshop open to students with intermediate experience on ANY aerial apparatus - NO lyra experience necessary! Modifications will be provided and spinning is optional. Fitted clothing covering the midriff and knees is encouraged but not required.

PREREQUISITES:

• Intermediate experience on ANY aerial apparatus, but NO lyra experience is necessary!

• Students should be comfortable inverting in the air multiple times throughout the workshop.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Katie Rose was a professional ballet dancer with the Continental Ballet Company for six seasons performing soloist roles in The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, & Swan Lake. Following a performance-career ending injury, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor's & Master's degrees in Psychology & prioritized passing her love & passion for the anatomy of the ballet technique onto her students as a ballet instructor around the country. After discovering aerial arts in 2021, Katie Rose found that it filled the part of her heart that had been missing since her performing days. In her aerial teaching style, Katie Rose loves to embrace the artistry in aerial while honoring the strength it takes to perform such feats. She has performed aerial professionally for multiple entertainment companies all over Southern California, NC, and VA. Katie teaches and performs on lyra, aerial silks, aerial sling, and lollipop lyra. When her feet are on the ground, Katie Rose enjoys long walks on the beach, getting caught in the rain, & eating Chipotle burritos.
