Intermediate Lyra Sequencing

DESCRIPTION:

Lyra, or aerial hoop, is a beautiful circular apparatus. This 75-minute intermediate Lyra sequencing class will begin with a thorough ground warmup followed by conditioning drills designed to build body awareness and strength. You will learn new shapes; explore new ways to blend and bridge skills together; experiment with spinning techniques, balances, and rolls, and travel between the top bar, bottom bar, and spanset. PREREQUISITES: 1. Students should have completed our Intro and Foundations curriculums (or equivalent) and have a minimum of 1 year of consistent training and/or instructor permission. 2. A thorough understanding of ability to cleanly execute foundational aerial hoop skills. 3. The ability to mount and move around the hoop with intention and control. 4. Comfort with double knee hang on top and bottom bars and hip hang and single hip hang/hip hold. 5. Comfort with straddle inverts. Please note: our group classes are for adults only (age 16+).
