Beginner to Advanced Level (Age 16+)
DESCRIPTION:
This class focuses on the fundamentals of inverting on the ground! Students will learn safety, form, balance and endurance in headstands, forearm stands, shoulder stands, handstands and even on hand balancing canes! Most importantly, everyone will leave with at-home drills that build balance over a lifetime. Hand Balancing is an empowering discipline that utilizes every muscle in your body and develops body awareness and control. It's an excellent cross-training discipline for aerialists in particular because the pressing/pushing action of handstand training protects against the grip, forearm, and shoulder overuse injuries than can occur with all the gripping and overhead pulling we do in aerial training. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced hand balancer, these classes will develop your technique for different hand balancing entrances, exits, and shapes (such as stag, straddle, tuck, pike, and straight-line).
