About the event

Are you ready to unlock your artistic voice on silks? How do you use the apparatus as an extension of your expression? Advance your act creation beyond stringing tricks and vocabulary words together. In this workshop, participants will learn tools and strategies to create enrapturing movement on the silks. We will begin the journey of putting the "art" in the art form of aerial silks and what that means for you. Things will get weird, tangled, and turned into a beautiful mess as we experiment. Bonus: this will be our first-ever workshop in our new studio at 2241 W Hanford Rd Burlington...with its 24 foot ceilings and custom pulley system designed by Todd Spiering of Circus Gear! Come check out the new space!

Prerequisites:

This workshop is designed for students in Upside Level 2 and above (i.e. comfortable with aerial skills from basic, single, and double footlocks. Inversions in the air a plus but not required).  Youth participants welcome with appropriate experience.
