Graham Arts Around the Square

Upside Aerial students and instructors will be performing for the City of Graham Arts Around the Square Festival on Saturday, May 16th, from 10am to 4pm! This free event is a vibrant celebration featuring artisan and craft vendors, live art demonstrations, four stages of music and performing arts, engaging activities for kids, and participation from community partners. FOR UPSIDE AERIAL STUDENTS & PERFORMERS:

We work hard to provide opportunities for our students to perform for live audiences and connect with each other outside the studio. We encourage ALL Upsiders to attend this festival and cheer on our performers! To perform for this event, you should be Foundations Level or higher and attend our classes regularly (e.g. 4 or more classes per month). Aerial safety and preparedness are always our top priority.

Performers are highly encouraged to choreograph an act to a family-friendy song of their choice. Eye-catching costumes and makeup are also encouraged! In addition to (or instead of) a choreographed act, performers can prepare 1 or 2 sequences they can repeat safely and comfortably. Due to the length of this event, performers will sign up for time blocks (2 hours each) and are expected to be present and ready to perform at any time during their block(s). Performers will not asked to be perform their act multiple times during their block unless they want to and have the stamina to do so safely! Feel free to sign up for multiple time blocks if you can!

• 8am - 10am Aerial Rig Setup (directly next to the Alamance County Courthouse in the center square of downtown Graham)

• 10am - 4pm Upside Aerial Performances and Event festivities

PARKING

You can park in any public parking lots in Downtown Graham. Here's a list and map. We recommend trying to park as close to the center square (Alamance County Courthouse) as you can, since that's where the rig will be set up.
