Burlington Carousel Festival - May 6th

ABOUT THE CAROUSEL FESTIVAL:

Upside Aerial students and instructors will be performing for the 32nd Annual Burlington Carousel Festival, the City of Burlington's LARGEST event!  This 2-day festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 6th and 7th, and it is an extra special celebration this year! After several pandemic cancellations and a complete, multi-year restoration project, the City’s hard-carved, hand-painted Dentzel Carousel is back in City Park in its brand-new Carousel House. This festival features live music at multiple stages, a huge arts & crafts fair, food vendors & a beer garden. Amusement Park Rides & fun for the whole family will fill Burlington’s City Park throughout the weekend. Event entry is FREE but  bring spending money for shopping at the arts & crafts fair, kids activities, rides, food and other fun features. 

EVENT SCHEDULE

• Sat May 6th - 8:30am to 10:00am: Aerial Rig Setup (near near Baseball fields of Burlington City Park)
• Sat May 6th - 10:00am to 6:00pm: Upside Aerial performances during the festival
• Sun May 7th - 12:00pm to 5:00pm: Upside Aerial performances during the festival
• Sun May 7th - 5:00pm to 6:00pm: Aerial Rig Breakdown

PARKING

Parking can be an issue for this event due to its size. If you can't find parking close to City Park, there will be a Park & Ride option via Link Transit: park in City Lot #8 in Downtown Burlington (700 S Spring St.) and hop on the bus directly to the Festival! Busses will depart the lot each hour, on the hour. Also, if you register below, we'll send you updated parking details as we get closer to the event!

FOR UPSIDE AERIAL STUDENTS & PERFORMERS:

We love providing opportunities for our students to perform in front of live audiences and to connect with each other outside the studio! We will have our free-standing aerial rig set up near the baseball fields of City Park. Since the festival is right in the middle of our Spring Showcase season, you can either perform your showcase piece, or just come prepared with a sequence you feel comfortable with on the apparatus(es) you train regularly at Upside. Or you can do a mix of both! Students and instructors will take turns performing their sequences for festival-goers to enjoy. If you don't want to perform, we'd love it if you still came to hang out with us: you can help us with setup or breakdown and cheer on your fellow Upsiders! 

Please wear either your Upside Aerial apparel or feel free to have fun with any family-friendly, aerial-friendly costumes! Festival-goers love color and costumes: we recommend bright colors, and face glitter and gemstones (applied with lash glue or spirit gum). Just remember to avoid sharp, poky accessories that may get caught on your aerial apparatus.
