Burlington Carousel Festival - May 4th

ABOUT THE CAROUSEL FESTIVAL:

Upside Aerial students and instructors will be performing for the 34th Annual Burlington Carousel Festival, the city's LARGEST event!  This 2-day festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 3rd and 4th, and features live music at multiple stages, a huge arts & crafts fair, food vendors & a beer garden. Amusement Park Rides & fun for the whole family will fill Burlington’s City Park throughout the weekend. Event entry is FREE but  bring spending money for shopping at the arts & crafts fair, kids activities, rides, food and other fun features. 

UPSIDE AERIAL SCHEDULE:

• Fri May 2nd - 5:30pm to 6:30pm: Aerial Rig Setup

• Sat May 3rd - 10am to 6pm: Upside Aerial performances

• Sun May 4th - 12pm to 5pm: Upside Aerial performances

• Sun May 5th - 5:00pm to 6:00pm: Aerial Rig Breakdown

  
  

PARKING & LOCATION:

Plan extra time for parking due to this event's size. Our free-standing aerial rig will be set up under the old carousel shelter pictured here. Hooray for shade! The  public parking lot closest to the aerial rig location is the Thataways Youth Center at 1331 Overbrook Rd. If that lot is full and you can't find other parking, there will be a Park & Ride option via Link Transit: park in City Lot #8 in Downtown Burlington (700 S Spring St.) and hop on the bus directly to the Festival. Buses will depart the lot each hour, on the hour. 

FOR UPSIDE AERIAL STUDENTS & PERFORMERS:

RSVP below to help us plan and to receive all event updates. If you can attend May 3rd and May 4th, RSVP for both days! We love providing opportunities for our students to perform in front of live audiences and to connect with each other outside the studio. Since the festival is the weekend before our Spring Showcases, you can either perform your showcase piece, or just come prepared with a sequence you feel comfortable with on the apparatus(es) you train regularly at Upside.  Students and instructors will take turns performing for festival-goers to enjoy. If you don't want to perform, please come and cheer on your fellow Upsiders or help us with setup/breakdown! 

Please wear either your Upside Aerial apparel or family-friendly, apparatus-friendly costumes! Festival-goers love when we dress up: we recommend bright colors and face glitter and gemstones (applied with lash glue or spirit gum). Just remember to avoid sharp, poky accessories that may get caught on your aerial apparatus. Let us know on the RSVP form if you have any questions...hope you can join us!
