B-Town Christmas Cruise-Thru

Join Upside Aerial & Burlington Recreation & Parks for a safe, fun-filled holiday experience! Cruise-thru in your vehicle to enjoy aerial performances, dancing elves, holiday music, decorations, and costumes on your way to pick up holiday goodie bags for the kids. The event will take place on Saturday December 12th from 1 to 4pm. Enter the event on E Kitchin Street from S Mebane Street and you will be directed by staff to enter the Cruise-Thru on Overbrook Drive. You will exit onto S. Church Street from Overbrook. No entry from S. Church street for this event. B-Town Events will be posting updates about the Cruise-Thru on Facebook here.

FOR UPSIDE AERIAL STUDENTS & PERFORMERS: 

We would love for current Upside Aerial students to join us for this community event! We encourage Fall Showcase performers to repeat their performances (except we'll be performing to holiday-themed music). Or you are welcome to show off what you've been working on in class. Or just come hang out with your Upside Aerial Family! Bring a folding chair, water/snacks, and a mask. Masks are required at all times except when performing on the rig. The City of Burlington has requested holiday-themed costumes for event participants, so wear something fun and dress warmly! (Weather is predicted to be in the upper 50s and cloudy.) 

If performing, you'll need to bring your aerial fabric/apparatus. (The rig will be set up with a pulley system for changing apparatuses between each performer for COVID safety.)  PLEASE NOTE: We aren't allowed to bring people who aren't Upside students (outside parents/guardians) due to space and COVID considerations, so encourage your friends and families to drive through the event. Also, we'd love help setting up the portable rig (between 11:30am and 12:30pm) and breaking down (between 4 and 5:00pm). If you'll be attending, be sure to RSVP by registering below: since we need to change apparatuses between each person, this will help us organize rig time. 

PARKING: Arrive between 11:30am to 12:30pm. (If you arrive later, you may get stuck in the drive-thru line.) Enter the event space via the YMCA parking lot on Kitchin Street (orange arrows on the map. The Upside Aerial rig will be at #8 on the map). You will need to enter from S.Church/Main Street – Mebane Street will be blocked off. You will drive through the YMCA parking lot to the barricade where a staff member will let you through. All event participants and staff will park in the Thataways parking lot off of 1334 Overbrook Road.
