Alamance Pride Festival

Upside Aerial students and instructors will be performing for the Alamance Pride Festival on Saturday, October 15th, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm! (Note: 10/15 is the newly rescheduled date due to hurricane Ian.) This free event will include live music and entertainment, community organizations and vendors, and plenty of food trucks. Don't miss the drag show starting at 4pm! Alamance Pride is a non­profit organization serving the LGBTQ 

(lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer) communities of Alamance County. The Alamance Pride Festival is held annually as part of National LGBT History Month and National Coming Out Month. The purpose of this event is to celebrate the LGBTQ community, promote inclusion and diversity, provide opportunities for community outreach, and to educate the Alamance County community about the importance of equality.

FOR UPSIDE AERIAL STUDENTS & PERFORMERS:

We are so excited to supporte Alamance Pride and we love providing opportunities for our students to perform in front of live audiences! This is a great opportunity to get ready for our Fall Showcases later in the month, so feel free to prepare a piece choreographed to a specific song. Or you can just do a sequence you feel comfortable while we play some ambient music for you in the background. If you don't want to perform, come and hang out with your Upside Aerial Family and help us with setup and breakdown. If you are performing, you can either bring your own aerial fabric/apparatus or use the studio-provided equipment. Please wear rainbow colors to celebrate Pride or your Upside Aerial apparel with any rainbow accents you want to add! Feel free to glam it up...festival-goers love color and costumes: we recommend face glitter and gemstones (applied with lash glue or spirit gum). Just remember to avoid sharp, poky accessories that may get caught on your aerial apparatus.

EVENT SCHEDULE

• 10:30am to 12:00pm Aerial Rig Setup (at the Historic Depot amphitheater in downtown Burlington)
• 12:00pm to 4:00pm Upside Aerial Performances and Event festivities
• 4:00pm to 6:00pm Aerial Rig Breakdown and Event festivities (drag show starts at 4pm)

PARKING

You can park in any public parking lots in Downtown Burlington. We recommend Lots 1 or 2 to be closest to the aerial rig.  Click here for a parking map
