Lyra Foundations & Flow
Previous aerial experience required (Age 16+)
DESCRIPTION:
In Lyra Foundations & Flow you will expand your knowledge of fundamental skills, learn spinning techniques, basic balances and rolls, and travel to the top bar! This class also introduces and explores the idea of "flow." What does it mean to flow on the lyra? In practical terms, it means developing fluidity and control during brief sequences, which allow you to flow through a series of poses connected by smooth transitions. However, mind-body flow is about so much more! Flow is sometimes described as "getting in the zone" or "the freedom to be fully present" and "locked in" to what you're doing. Finding your flow on the lyra is about the psychological and physical freedom that comes with feeling energized, focused, and fully immersed in the enjoyment you experience on the apparatus. Lyra Foundations & Flow will include activities and prompts to use in our quest for flow! PREREQUISITES: A minimum of 5 Intro to Lyra classes or instructor permission is required to attend.
